... par endroit , se transforme en un lac . Le lac Ampitabé n'est pas très loin, c'est la que se trouvent les 3 ou quatres lodges et la réserve faunique du Pallarium.
Le soir venu, dîner aux chandelles .. du poisson biensur !!

... bungalows with amazing views over lake Ampitabe. We are the only guests here right now. We get a three course lunch which is surpisingly good. The bungalows are as luxurious as possible in this location. We have electricity for 5 hours in the evening, a good warm shower and a bed with mosquito net. In the afternoon we go on a 2 hour hike by ourselves. Trails are well marked here and it's very safe, so we don't need a guide. The walk takes us along a ridge ...

... was evidenced by the burnt out town hall. When the president was overthrown, all the local mayors were too - democracy rules! (not). In July there was no sense of danger - just a lot of confusion and people having to make it up as they go along - like the impact of no tourists is closing hotels, and flight cancellations.
