... They were built to survive amateurs.
The problem was. Someone hadn't filtered the water in the fridge and ended up getting sick from it, so the following few days felt pretty ******. I ended up only going to the beach and the pool in the afternoons and sleeping through the insanity of everyone getting ready in the morning to go out and partake in activities that I felt to sick to bother with.
On the bright side, I got better before we had to get on another plane.
... the wrong address, after driving through some pretty dodgy streets we finally found the street we were looking for. We had just decided we must have it wrong and would have to navigate out of there. ... place we were supposed to stay at come & go we were informed the campsite we hoped to stay at was closed so continued onto the next large town, Aracaju. As we passed along 2 hitchhikers grabbed a ride with us; they were 2 security officials needing to be dropped at the next town. Finally at the campsite, tents up, we settled down for a pleasant dinner of pasta spirals with a chicken & vegetable sauce before all heading off for a rather early bedtime of ...
... and shouting to passers by - I heard my hotel name checked on one of his noise drive-bys! It's all going to get much much livlier on my next stop though, as I'm now getting psyched up for CARNAVAL! I fly south to Salvador in the morning and the festivities officially start on Thursday, lasting until Fat (aka Shrove) Tuesday - whilst the UK is tucking into pancakes I plan to be proficient at Samba and polishing off my umpteenth caipirinha!!!
