So take a deep breath grandma, I'm ok :) I was pretty shaken up and scared but the majority of the group (and all of the guides) were ahead of me and so my only choice was to get back on my bike and ride. I ended up doing the next 4.5 hours quite slowly but I finished it, bruised hip and all. ... been feeling a lot better, at this altitude you really can´t do much in a day. 40 minutes of walking leaves you exhausted and no taxi will take you 5 mins drive away. So although
I´ve only visited a couple of things here, I have a valid excuse! The good thing about altitude sickness is you have to have lots of sugar so you can munch on chocolate guilt-free!

The people in La Paz make a welcome change from Cusco. There are a couple of beggars but no-one trying to ...
