... I was wishing I hadn’t ordered the fries, as the meal was large enough without them). We had a nice visit over dinner for about two hours and then walked back to the hotel. While dining we had a short chat with the group at the next table, some of them being from Scotland.

We finished our tour by walking to the birthplace of Marco Polo, born in 1254. We ventured to the top of the Loggia above the famous world traveler and writer’s home, to view the rooftops of Old Korcula.

... Essentially the entire island is forested, with two salt water lakes in the middle which are actually connected to the sea by small channels. It has a couple very small towns where you can stay and one resort style hotel but is very much about unspoiled nature. I did think it was beautiful but I have to say we Calgarians are spoiled...
