It was already 12.30pm when we reached the horse tribe (九寨郎寨ཱ 2;帮). we mounted the horses and rode them into the mountains accompanied by the guides. Zhuo Ma also rode with us. It was not easy to ...

The 4.5 hours that we were given to explore the area was actually quite short and we had to rush through some of the scenic spots nearer the exit. It was already 5.30pm when we finally got back into the mini-bus and headed for Jiuzhaigou.
(Tip: To save money and time for such arrangement as ours to Huanglong, do not take the cable car, which costs ¥80. Just walk ...
... its different colored, clear lakes and pools, cascades and waterfalls. It had a great set up, you get into the park and they have park buses that you can get on and off at any stops. There were lovely hikes throughout and the best part was that you could take the bus to the "top", then hike pretty much downhill the whole time, then catch a bus at the "bottom". I have a lot of pictures to post because the park was quite beautiful.

I can't possibly imagine what it must have felt like to experience such things. But some of the things he said to me stuck in my mind. That people from the worst hit towns, who survived the quake, had learnt overnight what things in life were important and what were not. You ...
Jiuzhaigou, Sichuan, China iolair... With the intention of getting up bright and early the next morning to tackle the park, we settled in the night after a dinner that involved a rolling blackout (leading to dinner by candlelight) and once again, using our lonely planet food glossary in conjunction with a lot of pointing, gesturing, and other variations of body language, to order something which we hoped would remotely resemble what we thought we were getting. We woke up the next morning to cloudy ...

We were going to book the four day trek but decided to change to the three day trek after seeking advice from many other foreigners whom had returned today or yesterday, most of them of course from Israel! The advice was mostly the same. 1: It was TOO cold at night and 2: You could easily do it in three days We also got many 3: I ...
