    ... walked around the gardens in front of the tower and saw all the Christmas decorations they were preparing! Some street peddler sold us a bottle of 8Euro champagne, so we drank that and walked along the streets back to the Champs Elysee. We noticed the Eiffel Tower lights up (literally sparkles) every hour for a few minutes which is such an amazing site!     ... were on our own. The apartment really is bright and airy with a nice view out onto a grassy park below and buildings and housing stretching as far as the eye could see after that. At least at this distance from our starting point the neighborhood had changed for the better and there were a series of these high rise apartment buildings clustered together and they appeared to be well kept.

    ... and a more manageable size. The Tuileries Garden starts by the pyramids and is really beautiful. There are all kinds of things tucked away in here - many fountains with chairs set up all around, sculpture gardens, a trampoline area, a merry-go-round...and right now they're holding what I can only assume is the worlds most expensive carnival, with most games costing 4 euros to play.
