... not a bad way to spend my birthday!
Monday 9th June
Its home time today, and to make the most of it, we're up at the crack of dawn and out by the pool again before our 10am shuttle to the airport. I will be sad to leave the sunshine, cactus's and ocean, but will not miss having to dispose of toilet paper in a bin (due to their delicate system)! Adios Lanzarote, hasta luego!

Today we are jetting off into the sun, for a long weekend getaway for my birthday. We're leaving a surprisingly warm Edinburgh, which is fortunate because the walk to the tram is in t-shirts and jandals - yes, we are flying Ryan Air for the first time, and hand luggage is sparse. It was a slow start to the morning after a night out with the Edinburgh crew lastnight. To get into the Spanish theme, cousin Cheryl dared Kev to drink a jalapeno cocktail - ...

I stayed with them and we saw Dave pass by on his second lap and Derrick on his first. Then with 90 minutes to kill before we saw them again we grabbed a bite to eat and escaped the sun. We went back to spot we started at and waited for at least another 45 minutes or so before Dave passed by. It was a prime location be we ...

As soon, and that's not an exaggeration, as soon as we got down to the pool and laid ...

The wind was still blowing strong though so I retreated to the room to continue napping after a short while.
Headed down to the Grocery store after my nap to get some snacks and little things for dinner. I held up the line for a nice while because my card wasn't ...

We stayed here because it's the only accommodation on Lanzarote that we can get with our timeshare company, Interval World. Two things would have made it perfect: a comfortable bed, and a hot tub. But we spent many restful hours after a busy day but before dinner just watching TV and having a glass of wine. This particular resort is also not that close to town, but we had a rental car and a designated driver so it hardly mattered.
