It's always a pleasure to come back to Europe...even though the main purpose of the trip was business for my dearest husband - we like to balance business with pleasure whenever possible...the main destination of the trip was London, but we could not resist revisiting beloved Paris...if only for a few days...
This was actually …
It wasn't our first time in Paris, but to me - no matter how often you are in this city, you can't get enough of it...I think I would feel the same even if I lived there permanently...there are many obvious reasons why people love Paris... to me - it's more about subtle, subconscious, emotional reasons...
Paris: So it's Monday now and we are in Paris. Wonderful. Weather has got quite warm again. This afternoon while re-exploring the area we stayed in 3 years ago we came across a media scrum in the Champs de Elise, backed up with numerous vans with satellite dishes, reporters and camera men scrambling with each other outside the FIA building. They …

Happy Day to you!
... to all you American visitors, who looked horrified. The best was yet to come.....
Paris du Norde does not have a good reputation......and proof of the pudding after disembarking, was watcing the undercover police arresting a bunch of thieves for stealing other people's property.........'Europe, it's so sophisticated...' I heard one of the American tourists say earlier on...........probably before her purse was stolen.

Historical Traveler Reviews Jardin de L'Odeon Paris
My husband and I stayed at this hotel for a weekend in February and found the hotel a delight. The staff were very courteous and very helpful and efficient in the booking by email. Our room was small but clean and newly decorated and we had a good breakfast as part of our rate. Overall I think it is great value. I would have no hesitation in staying at this hotel again.
We have just returned from Paris, and I have to say that the Jardin de l'Odeon was perfect. First of all the staff were extremely helpful and kind. Even if you are used to travelling, it's good to have someone at the front desk who can help out a bit. The receptionists told us the easiest way to get to all the sights (nothing is very far away, Paris is quite a compact city, and the hotel is right in the centre) and booked our taxi so that we would be sure to get the airport on time on our last day. That sort of small detail can take a weight off your mind. Other comments has mentioned that the hotel was a bit basic. We didn't feel this. Of course there are more expensive hotels in the area, but we felt that we got what we paid for. And how many hotels offer free wireless internet access in the lobby? If location is important to you (we liked being able to walk everywhere) then this hotel would be good for you. If you like spending extra money on a huge room rather than on a nice meal out in Paris (which I think is silly), then you might need to think about checking out other options, but we were delighted with our stay and would recommend the hotel to others.
Seasoned Traveler Enjoyed Stay at Jardin De L'Odeon, Spring 2004
I was quite impressed with the friendliness, helpfulness, and general good nature of the staff at Jardin De L'Odeon. Will go above and beyond.
Room and Bath were typical small 3 star European version.
Location is absolutely wonderful! Many great restaurants close by.
Neiborhood safe. Very Quiet Place(accept the maid in the morning).
Great find, great value. Will stay there again.
I thank other Tripadvisor.com reviewers for helping me find this little gem in Paris.
Jardin de l'Odeon Excellent Value
My husband and I along with three friends just returned from a six-night stay at Jardin de l'Odeon and found it very comfortable and quiet, with a friendly staff and a great location. The Odeon Theatre is under-going renovation at the moment, so the view of the columned building featured in the hotel photos is absent for a time. Even so, this is one hotel to keep on your list. The rooms are comparable to the Abbaye St-Germain, but the lobby could use a little design work. Nice little garden at the back. Room 12 has a large terrace with wrought iron table and chairs. This hotel is convenient to the 58, 63 and 87 bus lines. Try the cafes "Les Editeurs" or "Le Danton" for breakfast and watch the world go by.
A Great Find in Paris!!
We chose this hotel as part of a travel package - absolutely wonderful!
Situated in a busy Paris neighborhood, but on a quiet street, our room overlooked the private garden terrace. Close to everything - walking distance to both Metro and RER stations, can easily walk to anything - Notre Dame, Louvre, Orsay. Hotel staff are all very nice, friendly, and speak English. Rooms are small, but stocked with amenities (in room safe, toiletries, blow dryer, mini-fridge/bar) and bathrooms are BIG as far as European standards go. If we ever visit Paris again, we will definitely be repeat visitors at this hotel!!
We stayed in November for 3 days. The staff is really friendly, the rooms are very modern and the location could not be better. Although it is located in a busy area, this hotel is situated in a quiet street.
Just make sure you ask for a double bed, our room had two twin beds and they did not have double beds available. On the other hand... our room had a private terrace where we had breakfast.
Chic French style in suberb location with reasonable rates
We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. It was a real delight. It's main advantage is the location, situated in a quiet street with a short walk from the Metro and RER trains from the airport. The surrounding streets have lots of small bars and cafes. You can easily walk to Notre Dame. The hotel itself is quite small but very tidy and stylish. The propritor and his wife were very helpful and spoke English. The rooms were very small but very clean and tidy, only a small critism was that it could have done with a shower over the bath.Great, will stay there again.
A Great Value
We were at Jardin de L'Odeon for 6 nights in October 2003 and had a wonderful stay. The hotel staff is friendly, the room was clean and nicely decorated (though very small but that's standard in France), and the location could not be better. We were no more than 15 minutes from anywhere in the city and the neighborhood of St. Germain was itself an attraction--many cafes, shops and things to do right around the corner. I would definitely go back and recommend it to others.
What kind of establishment is this?
I made a reservation to stay in November and have had a change of plans. I have requested a cancellation confirmation everyday for a week and have received nothing!!!
A bit too basic
If you have looked at the hotel's website and thought it would be a charming hotel, you would be wrong. The hotel is very basic and lacks character. On the other hand, for 125 euros per night, the bathrooms are newish and very clean, the beds are comfortable and the rooms, while on the small side are not as small as some Paris hotel rooms. If you do not plan to spend much time in the hotel, the location is great and the price is right. However, if you like your hotels to be comfortable, pay up a bit and go to the Relais St Germain.
