... our visit with Abu-Ali we continued on our way to Karak Castle, another from the crusades. We had a walk through there and learnt a bit about its history. As we left the town of Karak we drove through a street demonstration. Lots of yelling and a few scuffles. It was a bit intense. Onwards we drove to the Dead Sea which is actually a lake. A big lake. ... busy a city this would have been. We spend a couple of hours looking around before trying to find Jehad again, this time a cafe owner helped us out by calling him. It turns out that he had moved the car as he thought we were going to a different exit.

We drive back south, passing through Amman quicker as the traffic has eased while everyone is at work, before we start heading west towards the Dead Sea.

... but a drop on the side and a sense of vertigo kicks in. This seems somewhat backwards, but knowing this doesn't lessen the effect, so we just crack on. The views though are amazing, especially when we reach the top. From here you get an even greater appreciation for the size of the site. We eventually boarded our plane and set off for the runway, the other plane still nowhere near ready to fly and seemingly the passengers having an even longer delay ahead of them. Taking off we could see the new, much larger, terminal that is being built at the airport.
