Today we headed west to a quaint little village called St Charles on the Fox River as the annual scarecrow festival was on. Hello! So, by popular demand (ha) I'm trying my first blog... we'll see how this goes ;) Not sure what my connectivity will be along the way, but will try to keep in touch. If not during the trip, I will update the blog when I get home.

The Camino calls..... can't believe it's only 6 days until I fly out for my adventure!
... Bob and I walked into the movie theater...the ONLY ones in the theater!...and I realized I didn't have my phone. Ok..now don't laugh...I ran back to the restroom and sure enough, my phone was...let's just say...floating as it had fallen out of my back pocket...yep, right there! So on top of no insurance for my surgery, now I had a FRIED PHONE! Just great!
By the next day, we had insurance and approval for surgery AND a new phone! Life ...
This morning I left Dave to sleep and I went to see the National Shrine of St. Therese of Lisieux Fr. It was about ½ hour away from my Cousin's house in Bartlett.
The National Shrine of St. Therese is situated on a 50 acre Carmelite campus in Darien, Illinois. The Shrine includes both a museum devoted to the saint and a chapel where visitors can reflect and worship.
