... heading back to the hotel and when we come out it is again pouring.
I am tempted to drive past my old apartment but I’m really hurting so instead just drive back to the hotel. I realize that I have left my PJs at the other hotel. L I call them and they have them so I tell them I’ll be back down on Monday and they say they will hold them for me. I take some Tylenol and lay down ...

Robert and I had a look at the crime scene van used by the staff there to attend scenes. Now these are fantastic great beasts as you have no doubt seen on the TV. Really impressive inside complete with TV, DVD player, fridge, toilet and bag and bags of storage both inside and on lockable units on the outside. Two canopies pull down on each side and the floodlights are detatchable. I want one!!
A quick wizz back to the Academy to pick up some things for Robert and I was ...
... away form your arrival gate??
A 10 minute sprint later and I arrive sweating at my gate to see that my onward flight has been delayed by 2 hours due to essential maintainance. Of course, that fills you with confidence doesn''t it - the words 'essential maintanance'!!
Anyway ,we all board finally and I land in Tennessee where Nathan from the University of Tennessee Forensic Training Academy is going to collect me from the airport ...
Well, not much to say about Knoxville as we arrived late due to trying to sort out an extra day car hire as we realised we wouldn't make it to Washington D.C. by 11:00 the next day. By the time we got there we just wanted to relax so we went to Ruby Tuesday's for a late lunch and then I went and sat by the pool. We ended up watching back to back movies of Get Shorty and Be Cool (which always makes us laugh).
The next day it was the big pull to Washington D.C.
... tomorrow, but won't plan on it because it depends how much time we spend in the Chattanooga area.
We are staying in a Holiday Inn Express. Only about 5 months old and in very good shape. Bradley is impressed with the 2 king-sized beds in our rooms. I was more impressed with the pool which was a combination of indoor/outdoor--which was separated by a waterfall!

While I've been trying to sort them out, however, I've been looking back through them. We really did make a mad dash around Japan. I would love to go back someday and spend more time in certain places, really get my fingernails dirty with the culture, especially in the more rural places.
Overall, I loved the country of Japan and its people. There were times when the "spectacle" feeling of being ...
Thank you Lord for a wonderful and safe trip! We made it home today! We had a few relaxing days in Townsend before we came on home. We discovered some beauty that we had never seen before while in the Mountains. We took the Blue Ridge Parkway and the scenery was breath taking. As long as we have lived here we had never been down that road. I am so glad we took that trip. We will visit it again on a clear day so I ...
Oliver Springs, Tennessee, United States tiffintravelerWe drove through the Great Smokey Mountains National Park and stopped at some viewing points and trails along the way. WE hiked 2.4 miles to Laurel Falls, which was quite pretty as you can see in the photos and we also went to Clingmans Dome which is the highest point in Tennessee at over 6,500 feet. After a tiring day we checked into the motel.
On Thursday we drove into ...

After 3 weeks of May rain and sunshine, I had to show you what our yard looked like. I bet the neighbors were glad we were home too!
It was good to be back home, but this was one awesome vacation! Hope you enjoyed the blog and I would love to hear your comments.

... of Oak Ridge. It's now a retail area, with craft shops, a playhouse, and several nice restaurants; kiosks display photographs of early city scenes and tell the story of John Hendrix, a turn-of-the-century visionary who prophesied the beginnings of Oak Ridge. Head south by Melton Hill Dam & Lake on the Clinch River; there are campsites, a picnic area, swimming and boat ramp, and an observatory visitors center.
