... to remember I still need to be able to fit on the plane to go home!!!
We stopped in at Bardstown along the highway to look at the civil war museum and the historic original Bardstown. They'd moved some old bulidings from around the area to the one spot and it was a bit like the Telegraph Station in Alice Springs where you could walk around looking into them and seeing how people used to live.
... frazzeled nerves but othewise safely.
Taylorsville State Park is lovely. The park is very quiet and peaceful. There is not much to do there other than walk trails but the park itself is very pretty. They have 30amp service and water but no sewers. The lots are nicely spaced and it was not crowded. The bathrooms were immaculate and the staff was very friendly and courteous.
We stayed until Tuesday and next stop is Bowling Green, KY.
... the trams around the city.
Monday - day trip to Sintra
Tuesday - roam around the city some more then fly to Terceira, Azores (4 hours ahead of Louisville time).
I'll be in the Azores from 9/8 through 9/17 for work. Only thing on the agenda (other than my pesky job) for right now is a half day whale watching tour on ...
A short walk from the hotel lead us to the Louisville Convention Center and my first Kentucky Starbucks. I made it a mocha since it doubled as my breakfast. I asked the barista if they carried city mugs and he replied with a slight southern tang, "Nope. Small market."
Right.

According to my informational magazine in the hotel (the one I'm reading in the photo...) army guys Sherman and Grant plotted a battle together in the hotel. That hotel burned to the ground and was replaced in 1869, only to be torn down in 1921. Al J ...
Louisville, Kentucky, United States lauren.warnecke... creating my own agenda and itinerary is also making this trip have a more personal feel to it. Wow--3 weeks of travel and then a week off when i get back--that's not working for a whole month!! I think the last time that happened was the summer after graduating from high school back in 1998...seriously...I've worked a lot in the last 10 years...this is a much deserved break...48 hours from now we'll begin our journey!
Louisville, Kentucky, United States whoisjohngalt... Indiana and Illinois. We had a great day of driving with no major delays anywhere along our route. We managed to get in 13 hours of driving which put us in Clarksville, IN just across the Ohio River from Louisville. There are no photos with this entry because there really was no place to easily stop and take pictures particularly with the rain. I hope, however, that the description is enough to have you create your own pictures in your mind.
Oh the wonders of nature and nature-stream restoration projects I volunteer on. Bernheim offers an abundance of programs for schools and families that educate and allow you to help conserve some nature!
Also, this park has many, many hiking trails. Yay hiking! We all know how much I love that. :)
... per minute as the room begins to get colder. This I am ok with since I am tired and usually have a fan on at home anyway to drown out any outside noises. 1:45AM - Chirping from the AC begins to pick up more quickly, similar to that of a cricket. I stay in bed too lazy to shut it off. 2:00AM - The AC has now gone apeshit. Determined to get sleep even if it means the room is 90 degrees, I angrily get up and shut it off. 2:30AM - Outside the first floor of the hotel, a drunk ...
Louisville, Kentucky, United States cubswin2k5... grew too old to properly care for the horses, and so he sold them off, or they died of old age, and then they sold the farm itself. I myself grew out of riding horses and eventually forgot entirely about the legend of Crybaby Lane. That was until I was a junior in high school and well into my mopey punk rocker phase at a time and in a place where being a mopey punk rocker was just cause for getting your ass kicked by Bocephus fans. I once even got into a fight on the bus because ...
