    • Bethel Baptist Church puts on a Bethel Blast every 4th of July. They furnish pulled pork, baked beans, cole slaw, rolls, bottled water, soda, various desserts and watermelon. Local bands play in the big tent and fireworks at dark thirty. All this is free! ...

    • It is amazing that this town has a 4th of July parade every year with the most simple of floats and entries and the whole town turns out and appreciates it as much as a Macy's parade. You can certainly feel the American pride and patriotism in this town.

    ... seems a really long way! We had our first experience of free camping in the U.S. Here there is an app which lists all the Walmart shops that allows RV's (caravans, motor homes etc) to overnight park in their car parks free of charge. This is a popular service to travellers. Our caravan is completely self contained, holds all it's waste grey and black water, is battery and electricity powered, gas cooking, water heating and furnace heating.     Pulled in around 2:30. Glad not to have another extended trip time anytime soon. We had a wonderful trip. Great friends to travel with, would definitely get the Special Ed Posse together again anytime, just not back to Alaska! Statistics are a bit sketchy, but by my feeble calculations, we did the following:
