      ... me) was in the DR and they were here doing operations. The group was there Tuesday-Friday to do consults, check the hernias, and operate. 4 days and the operated on about 140 patients.

      *Great to know: will by far be the best thing I could have/will do in 2 years.
      *Saddening to realize: if the American (me) hadn't been living in Guasumita, been able to pay for transport and food, and the group hadn't come in for free ...

      ... things ive ever done. They can weigh up to 40 tons.... Pretty crazy.  From there, we took the boat straight to an island, where we hung out, played volleyball, ate lunch, for several hours before returning to the resort.  That night, we had a nice relaxing bonfire, and the workers put on a really cool show- like a traditional tribal music/dance, I'm so jealous of their natural rhythm!  Again, a lot of fun.  Sunday, we went to do some good for the environment ...
