... it did the job. It was a sit down bagel restaurant and the server asked that we order beverages because we had brought in our own and it wasn't allowed. On the menu, it explained what a bagel was and some history; clearly they aren't too common in Belgium.
We walked around the town of Lueven after bagels and obviously got Belgian waffles - just as good the second time. I really wish I could take some home! It was cold and rainy all day - your typical Belgian ...

... comic shops and Brussels is where Tin Tin was created. Walking through the streets we would come across random comic cartoons painted on the side of buildings. Later walking down the main street we see the police have blocked off the road to let all these hippies sitting down along the roads with their picnic rugs, drinking and dancing around to music... so weird! Brussels did have a few good pubs, one in particular served over 40 ...

... was all dug up and had a huge hole in the middle with a backhoe working at it, but there was a small dirt path leading to the front door. Inside, the hostel was probably the best we've had so far- the doors had a code instead of a key so we didn't have to worry about who had the key with them, the beds were clean and comfortable, it had free, working wifi, the showers were better than mine at home, and they had a nice cozy lounge area open 24 hours.
