After an hour and 20 minutes on a train from Paris we arrived in Brussels. We spoke to my buddy Tim as soon as we had Wi-Fi who said we could stay with him in Leuven so we sat down at a pub in Brussels, had a couple beers then hopped back on a train to Leuven.

... that breathed smoke and rumbled. After our morning of fun we walked around the base of the Atomium followed by the hop on hop off bus and sight seeing though the city. Belgium is known for its hot frites (chips) and their waffles so we just had to try them before we left. ... famous poem 'In Flanders Feilds'. This was the part where I teared up. I couldn't help thinking of the horror that unfolded in that very place I was standing only 90 years earlier, and being a nurse myself, I tried to imagine what it would have been like helping the wounded soliders... but I couldn't without literally sobbing.
We were so physically and mentally exhausted at the end of the day, we crashed pretty early.
