Expectation, pleasure and price
... next bus going to Pelekas, where the backpackers hostel was, was leaving at 7pm, in 3 hours! So i decided i had enough time to walk out of the town and find some nice area to camp for the night. I walked for about half an hour around the airport and entered a promising path leading to a construction site, crowded by trucks and machines. It was a sunday, so everything was stopped. I passed through it all until the other side, where I continued walking into ...
Corfu just in the front
The 7 hours bus ride from Tirana to Sarande was peculiar. What is called national road in Albania is not more than a bumpy narrow dirt path going north to south. The way was asfalted around half of the way, and when it was not, theminibus was jumping so much that it was hardly possible to even read along the way. However, the way was offering really interesting countryside landscapes to see, crowded by ...
No False Modesty Required

BUT WAIT- we still aren't done, there's still another 2 hour ferry ride to the island of Corfu. And of course, a 30 minute bus ride to our hostel. So I spent ...
Farewell to Greece

Once on the motorway we had a lovely drive north, there was not much traffic on the road so it was a quick trip. We then arrived at a huge bridge and to our great pleasure motorbikes were only ...
Learning to speak a bit of Greek
... around and there are markets here which are cheap, although we don't buy anything mindful of the fact that at the end of the cruise we still have to carry packs. We meander up the hill and find the fresh food markets where we have a coffee. The owner of the restaurant teaches us how to say hello and thank you in Greek, but they are hard, especially thank you. We check out the old fortress, but it is a bit disappointing with ...
