... there in Maribor, doesn't help we forgot our guide book either. The most entertaining bit was arriving in Ljubljana Airport and picking up the hire car for my first driving on the right hand side of the road experience (have previously driven in NZ but they are the same as side as the UK).

... of them all. They were very nice I think, but I'm not sure, so I'll have to sample them again later. As I booked this tour not long ago, all the rooms in the farmhouse are taken, so I have been accommodated in a lovely house, all to myself, 50 metres up the lane. Stopped at Varazdin for the night and walked that evening in the light rain around this mystical historic town. Quite romantic ...

... corn and wheat fields. What a place for a run! As I went along I spotted little ears poking above the wheat, and on further inspection realized they were deer! It was so cute seeing those little ears pop up all over the place. I'm finding that no matter where I've traveled to this year, I feel most connected to it when I'm running by myself. This is when I most experience the magic of travel; reflecting on where I've been, where I am, and where I'm ...

... life. We biked past horses, cows, goats, sheep, turkeys, chickens and local women in their house-dresses working in their fields; often exchanging smiles which was really nice. It was as if we went back in time. After lunch we hit the pools and relaxed up a storm. At dinner we met a really nice British couple who were visiting a property they own in the area. I learned that years ago many British people bought into the Slovenian real estate market hoping for returns ...
