... from the first to really throw you!
Somehow missed the turning for the Mex 55 at Tenango, nearly stopped at the Holiday Inn next to the Chrysler factory as a storm was breaking ahead but it was too expensive.
At a service station about 2 hours from Mexico City while drinking coffee met to Mexicans returning from Alaska on BMW's how I envied those comfy seats. They'd been on the road 32 days.
Eventually stopped at Tenancingo at the hotel Almeda - there I remembered at last!

... did the ascent to the ruins - despite 400 odd steps was OK - signs place conveniently every 25 steps meant sufficient get your breath back stops, plus interesting too! One whole temple actually carved out including some of the statues too - unfortunately some of the steps are really wearing away & parts have been closed as they are afraid of more wear & tear - won't be easy to repair! Wonderful views of the ...

... prayers. Next week we're hosting a few hundred indigenous people from all around the Americas- US, Mexico, Columbia, Peru, Ecuador. The idea is to promote unity among the many native peoples of the New World, to preserve culture and to work towards social change. I feel very lucky to have stumbled upon this place at the right time. I'll try to remember to take some pics and throw em up in the next couple weeks. Updates coming soon (ish)...

La Plata is as abundant as the rain.

... there is beautiful, as is the cathedral in the center of the city. It's definitely worth a day of your time if you are ever in the area, if not just to see all the different things made of silver. I bought my sombrero in Taxco, because t was just what I was looking for to make "the magic" happen. We spent about two to three hours there shopping and eating and just enjoying the center of the city ...

This is Vacation!!!

... to Tito and Manina's vacation home in Temixco. It was about a two hour drive from Mexico City through the mountains, and on the way I got to hone my GPS skills a little more. I'm getting pretty good with that little thing. Italo likes it as well, so I think Aislynn probably has his next Christmas present picked out in her head already. If you are curious, and I know you are, the highest altitude reached on the ...

... the tour, Rafael the guide took us to a silver wholesale shop that was underneath the main. There was promise of cheap prices; however the salespeople were so pushy that we were not able to get close without being hassled to buy something that we were not even looking at. We shook hands with Rafael and were on our way. We walked back around town and found a few more churches and side streets to walk along and take in the views. We made it ...

... damaged..it ahppened at about 2am and was pretty scary but we did manage to get it out in the end, and noone got hurt either. We then climbed up the mountain behind the cabin...once and a bit, as our leaders got lost and its pretty hot out here..so walking uphill in hot heat isnt fn, but so so worth it when we got to the top! We did so much other stuff at the Hacienda too like horse riding, rapelling and going for walks around Santa Maria which is also where one of the AV groups ...

Mal'n Urlaubstag zwischendurch

Guten Abend!
