Today was supposed to be a rain day so we planned things that didn't require good weather. As it turned out it was a beautiful day - probably over 19 degrees!! We started out at the Folk Center - many great pieces from local artisans including quilting, pottery, paintings, woodworking, jewellery no more. Then we drove to the Builtmore Estate - home of the Vanderbuilts. We didn't actually see it ... A very ...

The area that the homes were in were absolutely gorgeous! Tree covered hills scattered the back drop of the neighborhood. The group of us worked on 3 separate houses- some did the paint primer for an entire house (me and 4 others), some did the insulation for the ...

Day 4

... the DSLR and my Camera app on my iPhone. I think I got some pretty nice shots! After we were done with the rose garden and conservatory, we sat on a bench in the shade for a little while to rest and enjoy the breeze. We had fun looking at the pictures that Art and Ruth had uploaded from our wedding! Then we had lunch at the Saddle Cafe. The food was really good. I had a house salad with a Dijon vinaigrette and a Carolina BBQ sandwich, which came with both Eastern style ...
