    ... the stayed awake.

    Lake Chuzenji town needs a serious refurbishment. It is all stuck somewhere in the 70's with all the hotels and restaurants in serious need of a touch up. It isn't ever going to attract the volume of tourists that spend serious cash so I guess it will have to stay in the 70's .... There is plenty of modern world out there anyway. Our hotel was the best in town but still smelt pretty musty and even brought on ...

    Today we're going to continue practicing taiko with Eitetsu and his group. Yesterday we met the taiko group from Mashiko and got to play a little with them! They seemed pretty cool but they were younger than I had expected. Most were definitely younger than almost all of us. Anyway, we are going to have a workshop with Eitetsu and hopefully get to play with some of the Mashiko kids. We also plan on doing ...

    ... the two hour trip home we had dinner at our hotel. Everyone was pretty tired from the trip and settled down pretty early, but not before a rousing ping pong battle between several of our taiko students with some Japanese gentlemen that were also staying at the hotel Unfortunately, I didn't get any photos of that.
