... Nakatsugawa, including a ride on the world-famous Shinkansen (Bullet Train) to Nagoya. At Nakatsugawa, you board a local bus for the short journey to Magome. There is a walk of around 3.5 hours over Magome Pass to Tsumago, one of the best-preserved and most evocative of the Nakasendo post-towns. Overnight at a family-run minshuku in Tsumago, with a delicious home-cooked Japanese dinner and breakfast included. After dinner, enjoy a stroll ...

... is probably my favorite outing with Will. He burns a ton of energy with little effort on my part. Lindsey's family joined us on Sunday so it was the added bonus of a play date for everyone. Mike is also a more relaxed person after being at the ocean. I felt so lucky that we all love spending time at the beach and that it is so easily accessible. We are not on vacation but we can make days that feel like it. And there is something about the sea: my ...

It was a bright, bright sunshiney day :-D Sooo lovely to see blue skies!! We started with a walk around the Kawazu Seven Waterfalls then headed north up the east coast of Izu Peninsula to the spectacular Jogasaki coastline, the suspension bridge and flower gardens. Then on to Mt Omuro, an extinct volcano covered in grass. We rode the chairlift up the very steep slope and at ...
