... hike to the bus stop at Hatajuku if this seemed the most accurate experience.

At the well-marked trailhead, I strapped Will to my back. According to my phone app, we (including Will) had already walked 4 miles since leaving our house. Will was definitely showing signs of needing a nap. He fell asleep as we began the 500 ft climb to Hakone Pass. The surrounding gardens are beautiful with 2 waterfalls and a small shrine. Cam and Omi had a soak in the hot tub and Celie is amused because when you open the toilet door the toilet lid automatically puts itself up and makes a sound like 'hi'. We area about to go to dinner, not sure what to expect but we're very excited. Until ...

... We walked to the left where families enjoyed the tide pools. Walking to the farthest shores, we finally found some breathing room. The breeze was refreshing and the scenery rewarding. Mike didn't want to wait in line to take the ferry back so we hoofed back up and over the mountain island luckily finding some lesser used routes. Perhaps it wasn't the best day to do this outing, but I still really enjoyed the visit. It took us over 2 hours to get home. ...
