... ticket offices alone! So we were on our way on the 10am Shonan-Shinjuku line train to Odawara. The train wasn't the best as it stopped often. What was meant to be a 40min trip ended up twice that long. But we got to see a bit of the countryside. At Odawara we bought the Hakone free pass ticket for 4000 which included all transport within the area. We found the platform and we were bound for Odakyu Yomoto on yet another packed train. Here the hot springs, erupting geysers and bubbling pools of boiling mud dominate a fascinating landscape. We take the Hakone rope way from Sounzan down to Togendai on lake Ashinoko. We take a boat journey around the lake which is a water filled volcanic crater with a circumference of 18K. We are now making our way to Tokyo by ...

After two beautiful days of weather today was horrible. It rained a lot but worst of all it was foggy which was less than ideal for what we had planned for the day. We were booked onto a day trip to visit Mount Fuji and Hakone National Park. Our first stop was Mount Fuji. The plan was to drive to the 5th station, however the weather prevented this with the road up closed due to snow. We were only able to get as far as the 1st station where we could see pretty ...
