... the world. So after surveying the treasures of the Ottoman Empire we headed off on the next stop of our whirlwind touring day, the Hagia Sophia.
The Hagia Sophia is a former Greek Orthodox Church from the Byzantine era that was later converted to a mosque in 1453 with the Ottoman’s conquering of Turkey. As the sun set over Istanbul it was an impressive sight with the mosques in the background ...although ominous when three fighter jets screamed across the sky overhead,,reminding us the unrest with neighbouring Syria.
A country that we would love to revisit, so intriguing with so much more to see...another to put down on the bucket list to return to....we have our guides business ...
