Bangalore, Karnātaka, India darkstar... people I have photographed several times. I’ve built relationships through my photography. There are people and places that I return to.

One temple in Shivajinagar is home to a half-dozen families, and boasts the most incredible banyan, a sacred tree in India, the trunk of which is devouring ancient lingams, or stone carvings of gods and spirits. Against this wondrous backdrop I’ve taken pictures of almost everyone who lives there, in tiny ...

Bangalore, Karnataka, India indiatrip2009... week winds to a close at ACA, I have no regrets about making the journey here. I've met dozens of friendly new folks, engaged in dialogues about India's history and culture, enjoyed the spicy cuisine and felt a genuine bond growing with some of the boys living here. Most of all, I have appreciated being taken out of my comfort zone in Dallas and being brought to concentrate more on the foundation blocks of one's life: friendship, fellowship and focus on our Lord and creator.

Bangalore, Karnataka, India jdcasazza... Irish beggars, in their Nike trainers with their cans of Dutch gold, never have. This pauper is raking it in, but still he has no hope. From poverty to a palace - a jewel emporium Harish knows of. Mike, ssssh.... is proposing to his long term girlfriend Ornella when she comes to visit next month. He wants to give her a sapphire or an emerald ring. We are taken to the rear of the emporium and seated. it is after 9pm; we are the last customers. This has a ...
Bangalore, Karnataka, India daraflySo, quickly: Went to Ooty, which is an old British hill station. I had to cross the border back to Tamil Nadu to do that, which means the smell of **** from open sewers and men ******* everywhere. It wasn't as good as Munnar, though it was supposed to be better. Then went to Mysore. I was going to just be there a few hours, then get a connection on to Hampi, but it was nice enough to ...
Bangalore, India motionpicture... I have no qualms with Indian food. It is alright. They tend to use a lot more spices than I would prefer, which makes the meals very heavy in flavor. They also like to make everything spicy. Even the egg fried rice I had was spicy. It had jalapenos mixed in with everything else. Even some of their breads are spicy. It is kind of bizarre. But so far so good... Office buildings Not much to say about these. They are like a lot of the nicer office buildings I have seen back in the US ...
Mysore, India pomideWe went to Shali's house last night (Sunday) for dinner with her family and some friends of theirs. The car trip over was an experience in itself. The drive took about 40 minutes and we saw the extremes of life in Bangalore. There are the malls and office buildings and apartments and then the huts and vendor carts and small shops. They are so closely intertwined it's sometimes impossible to decipher where one begins and the other starts. It's ...
