    ... We make it to the top and it's,beautiful.
    All day on this trip we have been hearing Rosanne say to Steve; "Steve have you taken a photo of this? Steve, Steve, come here. Steve, Steve give her the camera so she can take a photo of us; Steve, Steve, look at this it's beautiful, Steve, Steve look at the yellow house. We all can't help but think that it reminds us of the u tube video of the squirrel that calls out Alan! Alan! Etc, etc. then Steve Steve! ...

    Praia mare and Maratea and Fagnano gym

    ... on the way back.
    We also drove up to Maratea to the large statue of Jesus the Redeemer, 2nd largest in the world.
    its about a 30 min drive from Praia and it's a winding road all the way up up up up.
    Once you get all the way up you catch a bus to the statue as the road juts out over the cliffs. It's a scary ride so high up.
    Francesca had told Silvana how good the gelatos were at The Scoglio at Guardia Marina so on ...

    ... to pick us up this morning and take us and our luggage to the next stop 1.5 hours drive away! For no charge! Very kind! The driver dropped us off where our starting point was and then he took the luggage to our accommodation. After an email from a friend suggesting we use GPS and me replying "don't be silly that would take the fun out of the walk" I actually did that on wifi before I left and when we were exhausted at end of walk ...

    ... to the coach and on to Venice. Arrived at the coach park and were transferred onto water taxis with our luggage. The taxi then took us for a trip around the Grand Canal before depositing us at the Carlton opposite the train station.

    Not really impressed with it however, the rooms are tiny and we are overlooking a concrete courtyard.

    We were given a welcome dinner which wasn't very impressive either and so to bed......

    ... us, but during the day would disappear, revealing a blue sky. Occasionally in the early morning and misty afternoons the sneaky clouds would cover the monolith of the mountains, so they looked like mere mounds on the horizon. We discussed at length if we would prefer to be a mountain or a cloud. We also discussed which of the two we thought we actually were. On this trip, I think I'm a little whiskey grey cloud.
