... two doors down as we speak. We will try and do a feature on each restaurant as we eat our way thru Cardenas. As well as the stand alone restaurants we certainly still have the open windows selling everything from pizza shells, bread, pork and my favorite baking. Walk out the front gate of Hostal Angelo's and head right to the corner of Spriu and Cristina you will see the little bakery to your left on the right hand side of Cristina. May 31 - Varadero. We left Cienfuegos for Varadero the tourist area for a night just to experience the beaches. It took about 2 + hours from Cienfuegos as most was on side roads thru small towns. Quite a ride. We arrived in

        and 5$ for breakfast and again $1.50 for a beer…very good ...

      • The road has no potholes or transmitter ripper-outer built in – they are very smooth and new
      • And you for sure will not find here black smoke coming out of a car or smell the stinky cars you find everywhere else in Cuba
      • So if you drive only here in Varadero then you never drove in Cuba.

... beautiful views of the marina. It has at least two a la carte restaurants which we enjoyed. Both have great decor and also very tasty food. My experience in general at a la carte restaurants is that you get excited expecting it to be a notch above regular buffet dining but I personally am always disappointed. Not this time. Both restaurants were very good. The decor in the Latin resto was excellent; it was ...
