We awakened to dense fog this morning that never seemed to burn off. Since we weren't leaving until 1100 because of adverse tide in the Cape Fear, we didn't pay much mind ---- except, when 1100 rolled around, the pea soup fog was still with us. I thought it would soon burn off but was wrong. We traversed the stretch from St. James Marina to Southport at idle, barely making two knots SOG. At Southport, with nearly zero viz, ...

... two hour trip down the Cape Fear River, with wind opposing tide, was lumpy but manageable and making the turn into Southport was a welcome difference from the rough ride down the River.

Per our plan, we arrived at Saint James Marina about 1600 followed by John and Tony aboard
Obscurity, who berthed next to us. We all retired to the Grille and Pub to get warm up and eventually stayed ...

      Tidewater Golf Club

A travel blog entry by rollinos on Oct 13, 2014

We left Raleigh around 9:30 heading southeast toward Sunset Beach KOA for two nights while we visit Bob & Pat Hinett. Bruce and I played Tidewater today for a smooth $266.00 a round per couple. Well worth or just for the spectacular holes and beautiful views. It's a tough course and can be punishing if you hit an errant shot. We played with two ...
