... We returned to our town and stopped for the promised ice cream. Laura was hungry and ordered a pizza which turned into two and an early dinner.
We had a late afternoon sesh of boogie on the dunes and then had a mellow evening.
A pleasant day and glad that we got the boys out for a long hike before the weather takes a turn for the worse.
... dives we had worked up a healthy appetite so we had our first NZ steak and discovered that they raise some very good tasting beef in this country too. And when Michael goes shopping on his own, no one asks him for his ID, so we could have a nice bottle of wine with our steak.
The next morning, after having had a hearty breakfast of delicious coffee (flat whites, we miss you already), bacon, eggs and hash browns, we continued on to Paihia, in the Bay of Islands. New adventures ...

Finished the dive and then drove back to Auckland - our hostel was in a great suburb called Ponsonby surrounded by bars and restaurants so had a cheeky drink and a some Laotian food before turning into bed.

... TV cameras and the sort of irritating and annoying extroverted people that reality programmes seem to attract. We were out of there before the rampage began. We needed some food so on the way out of Auckland we stopped at a Pak N Save supermarket. It was a big yellow place and was like Asda, Macro and Aldi all rolled into one.
