... breakfast menu, while the menu indicated Gumbo (beefy stew), Jambalaya (paela with chicken and spices instead of seafood). In the end I had Lamb brisket on Texas Bread with a side of chips! In the gray, drizzly weather, we chose to drink some chai lattes and read our books in the phenomenal Elliot Bay Book Store. ... in our Rocky Mountaineer tour - a trip up the Calgary Tower. This gave us a good overview and perspective on the city that we wouldn't have time to visit, and had one of the best handheld audio/visual guide thingys we've ever come across. It showed the view you were looking at, and you could tap the buildings to hear stories and see videos about the places in front of you. It worked really well and gave us a good sense of the place.

That's the first 4+ months. The next 2 months will be in Europe. I land in Brussels and plan to head south. Not really sure about the itinerary, but I plan to spend much of the time in Eastern Europe to save on cost and possibly film a short movie from a screenplay I wrote.
