Rach and I were woken up at 7am by my dreaded alarm (which I snoozed twice before we finally got up in the oven which was our beach hut for 5 nights). We had our standard cold shower and avoided the tiny bin in the corner as it was swarming with pacts of ants. We paid our bill for 5 nights accommodation, food and drink which was 4100B (approx £70 ) and said goodbye to Malai (the owner) and started our 10 minute trek up the beach with our heavy backpacks until we reached ...

... in Thai! The islands were exactly what we had hoped for - beautiful beaches, good food and magnificent scenery. However as more and more tourists become aware of these islands, as we have, and they become a replacement and/or successor to the more touristed islands in the south, we expect they will become more and more developed in the next few years; we hope that Koh Kood especially manages to keep it's beautiful charm and not become an island that caters purely for ...

... beach walks. This time of year isn't that busy here and it's fairly quiet even on the beach.

Laos and Cambodia were hot, harsh, dry, dusty places. Of course I'm happy I went but now I'm equally grateful to be near the ocean. This is the best way to wind down after weeks of travel, and to decompress for awhile. A few days before leaving I went scuba diving for the first time! It was a great idea but I got super ...

... It is a crazy sight sideways rain. Thoughts raced through my mind as captain and deck hands prepared to launch into the ocean while the wind coming straight into our large scuba vessel was bent on crippling our transport. Needless to say captain is more than qualified to deal with such matters. The next 90 minutes of my life I will never forget.

Today was a boring day. In short we left our guest house at 7:30am and arrived at our guest house on Ko Chang at 10pm. We had a nightmare at the border, 1 hour in the immigration que was ok but we then spent over 3 hours sitting on plastic seats on the street next to a bin waiting for our mini van to fill up. It was a fairly grim ...
