I jolted awake from my fitful night at 5 a.m. to the roar of the loggers hurtling down Route 69 to Escanaba, MI, the lone road that traveled the 60 miles to tonight's destination. My heart raced and my gut twisted into a pretzel as I had flashbacks of last night's nightmares, spawned by yesterday's close encounters with the big rigs.
