Woke up, did all the daily routine things, had breakfast. Annoyingly it's bright sunshine today - the day I'm leaving. I check what time I'll need to leave and am told to leave about 1pm. Well I have to check out of the hotel at 12 so think there's not much point hanging around for an hour to make myself feel more reluctant to leave the sun and beautiful beach. So at 12 I check out. ... the saddle the area around Batad looked amazing and it got even better from there. Once we reached Batad you could see the rice terraces and they were amazing I mean really amazing I would go as far as to say its the most impressive man made thing I have ever seen. Me and Kim stopped for lunch at a place that had an amazing view before trekking across the terraces to a waterfall we had heard about. Trekking through the villages and seeing life up ...

... jumping up at the rear of the Ifugao house to see us, while a tiny, tied puppy dog at the front was making far too many squealing/yelping noises to sound normal. He looked quite thin and we pointed this out to the owner. He said he’d check that he’d been fed.

There were some great hikes in the area of Banaue and they would have been great to take, as this scenery was just so beautiful and very unusual, but I had to be content ...
