... We were fortunate to have been upgraded to the fifth floor ("a triple upgrade" according to the concierge-perhaps because so few people are staying here at this time). It provides a great view of the sea, up and down both coastlines. This is our third and final night and we still are discovering new things about this huge hotel, from the spa area (which we can't afford), to the library, game room, indoor pools and outdoor infinity ...

I first became aware of this situation two nights ago while I sat in my tuxedo, alone at the Cellar Masters bar, sipping a nice malbec. A large group arrived at the far end of the bar and began arranging tables and chairs to accommodate their number, estimated here at almost twenty.

The marine life wasn't exactly comparable to the dives I'd made in Thailand, the colour theme was more of a drab grey than the vibrant reds and yellows I recalled from my other dives and the first ten minutes were spent adjusting my buoyancy and trying to remember what to do! But after that everything I love about diving came flooding back ...

The plan is to rent a motorbike. I pretend to know something about driving it but have forgotten. Dimitris gives me a brief lesson, I drive a few rounds in the port and feel confident enough to take the bike.
