After I arrived at Narita International Airport at 23:00, I stayed overnight in a couch of the airport. On the next day, I headed for Naritasan Shinshoji Temple. The temple is famous and popular among Japanese and I was eager to go some day. When I arrived at the temple, there were only few visitors in the temple. I felt a bit uncomfortable at first, but I enjoyed strolling in their quiet garden behind the temple ...

... s just me but I haven't seen anything like that in the U.S. Maybe we do but definitely not "advertised" as it is here in Japan. I am thinking that it's good to have rooms like these so that people of faith can have some privacy and peace if they want to pray. Alright in seven or eight hour we will be in Jakarta. My brother is picking us up at the Soekarno-Hatta airport at midnight tonight. Oh , btw it's December 15 at 4 pm ...

We ended up leaving Denver almost 2.5 hours late. Impressively, we were only an hour late arriving in Tokyo. Despite having over 30 minutes to catch the next flight, United pulled our bags and rebooked us on a midnight flight. This was not terrible, certainly better than losing our luggage or having to handle the rebooking ourselves. The only catch was the new flight departs from Haneda airport, a solid 70 minutes across Tokyo. I'm writing this from the charter bus that ...

... can watch us move across the map. Quite fun to follow. It's also great getting snacks and drinks. No sushi though, I know Katrine must be disappointed. Lots of good macha tea though, which is nice! It's also been good for my throat, which gets very dry, and Katrine is drinking lots of juice. With the time changes and sleeping periods between meals, it is hard to keep up with the "time of day". Katrine's watch is set to Ottawa ...

Japan (the end of the world)

We showed up at Dorval airport at 4am. The flight to Newark NJ was short. The plane was really small. Due to engine problems on our plane to Tokyo, we lost 6 hours in Newark. U.S. customs are really intense, this country has serious trust issues. I wouldn't want to get arrested here. At the airport we met a family of four from Montreal. They were really nice. The parents had travelled a lot before and were taking their two daughters to Vietnam and Laos. Kind ...
