... grandstand right opposite the pits, with a screen directly in front. Great seats. If there had been shade perfect! Only one of those and that stand VERY expensive. Saturday was practice 3 and qualifying. Dan was going great, first through all practices however finished 6th in Qualifying. Suzuka is amazing. The circuit is narrower than we expected and there are very few Europeans in the crowd. When all over a very orderly exit from the circuit and to the train ...

We spent the night at Ryokan Seikanso. So peaceful, quiet and traditional. Woke up to rain however it did clear. Left Nara 11'ish. ... like the strap had broken from one of the Tyne's but then I saw the medical car race over. It seems Bianchi ran off the track at the same spot. Long, wet trip home now. I knew as soon as the red flag came out that they would call an end to it so I got a great head start on the masses. Very we'll organised event. So that's Japan's GP done, just 16 more to ...

Made it to the track and wandered about looking at the souvenir stands, same old stuff as you get at Melbourne. Redbull stand 4 deep in a queue, catherham: empty. First poor food experience since coming to japan.... I hope that's not because I'm fending for myself, as Amanda is back in Kyoto watching on the iPad, .... Doesn't bode well for the next two weeks when I'll be on my own. Just watched the drivers parade. And I have a perfect spot at the ...
