        ... however we decided to get out and explore the town for a day.

        Chillán is a small and vibrant town with a population of 170,000 located 410km south of Santiago. The towns main attractions are the large fruit and vegetable market and the murals at Escuela México.

        ... fries...we waited for them because we watched her slice the potato then fry them up ...yum... the best fries I ever ate.

        The people that we encountered today seemed more modern, wealthier, upscale, well dressed. We were warned by Mauricio to be careful in Chillan of pickpocketers, but we walked around at night and felt very safe and secure... It was a great experience.

        We returned to our room and had a great nights sleep in our twin ...

        ... get to the waterfalls (which is what I really wanted to see) around 7.30 pm and the sun had gone. It was still great to see the waterfalls, but it didn't wow me as I thought it would. I think if we hadn't had all the problems earlier in the day and got there with plenty of time to spend then I would have appreciated it more. Ah well, I have to look on the bright side. Even though I am spending about 9 hours on the bus ...
