From July 17th until now, I have received a yellow fever shot, took typhoid fever pills, and started taking malaria pills yesterday. It was hard to narrow down what we wanted to do during our short stay here and decided on the Lincoln Park Zoo. It is historic, beautiful, compact in space but delivers on super cool stuff, as it is free!

We packed up and headed out to the city early and the girls were amazed at the huge buildings and so much to look at and see. It reminded me a little bit of Baltimore, but has ...

... briefly, and then beyond to Beloit. Back to the areas where I used to call home, and that I visit annually (usually twice)... familiar territory and scenery. The fal colors began to become less and less... maybe it's only 10% down here in southern Wisconsin.

A lovely lunch with my dear friend Katie at Manna's on the east side ...
