Took the drive to Fish Creek Falls and did a short walk to a great view. There was a path leading down to the bottom of the falls but using good sense we passed and just enjoyed the view from topside. A lot of water was flowing over the falls. ... was through oil and coal fields. Many trains and they were extremely long and full of coal. Drove in the mountains at elevations of over 9,000 ft. Would you believe that snow was still on the ground at the higher elevations. Sally would not let me play in the white (somewhat dirty) stuff.

... up the gondola and skied Sunnyside which runs near the Elkhead chair to warm up before moving to other areas of the mountain. Not many people on that run. Today there were lots of groomed runs so my legs got a break. Lunch was at Hazie’s and was a grilled brie cheese sandwich with a cup of cheese bacon soup for me. After lunch we skied Twilight and other easier trees and finished the day with the small moguls between Vagabond and Surprise.

In motorcycle touring, sometimes you have to pay to play. We paid yesterday slogging through the arid high plains and grassland with the wind thrashing us all the way. For the next three days we get to play in the Rockies.

... told us to get on I-70 and go thru the Eisenhower tunnel. When we got on the freeway, traffic was going about 20mph because one lane was closed. Boring! We had 26 miles to go before we would get off of the freeway. But, after about 7 miles both lanes opened up and we took off. We were a little disappointed with the view after the tunnel after being in the park.
