... actually you're right. Despite a mass of visiting walking tourists, nothing in Saint-Larry Soulan was open. Apparently this was their time to close prior to the winter rush. The best meal we could rustle up was a pizza. Who eats pizza in France? Our Irish B&B friends, who stayed here for a week, ended up popping over to Spain for a hearty meal. ... quiet. The church bells ring (thankfully, not all night) and it's not that far from a main road. But the surroundings are stunning.
Now we are off to Bagneres de Bigorre. It says that this is a town with a Basque feel.
The feel of the aire was more deserted industrial car park. Suitable for 6m vans, but we took up two spaces which didn't please one French bloke. So we took Smartie and had a look at several ...

    Hi Family and Friends,

Tuesday, around midday, saw me on the train from Toulouse to Lourdes. The journey was very scenic and while travelling through farmland, off to the left (south), was the ever- present snow-capped Pyrenees; and I can only hope some of the pictures through the train window came out.

Lourdes is a beautiful town in its own right and worth visiting notwithstanding its religious significance. I am not going to regurgitate ...
