... And there didn't seem to be very many adults supervising. I was also quite shocked to see teachers smoking at the tables in front of the students. It was unlike any field trip I had ever seen. It was so very different from home. Then again, I looked at the kids chattering away and munching on french fries, and it didn't seem so different after all...

We left the restaurant and I looked back one last time towards "My Fortress"...

... great, while the service awful. The waiter was rude and seeing two foreigners, he figured he could earn some more money with a generous tip. When he "politely reminded" us that tips are not included in the prize (after the whole evening of extremely poor service), I already knew he'd get nothing. We paid the bill and left no tip (as the tip needs to be earned!). When the waiter came he could not help but show his disappointment and what's more, he put the tip basket back ...

... were painted by Gustav Klimt; a series of several small apartments for the King and Queen’s preferred guests (including George Enesco and Sarah Bernhardt). There is an impressive collection of arms, a beautiful carved wooden staircase, a double-sided organ, and gorgeous stained glass windows all over the palace. And then, somewhere between the library and the music room with the double-sided organ, I make my favorite discovery so far... the group of Japanese ...

The drive towards Bucharest is broken up by a short stop at Bran the home of Vlad the Impaler, son of Draclu. A pretty town totally taken over by tourists.

... train departs. We stop at a typical local spot that has a grill. We get some great sausages which is apparently the only item they have in stock. The waitress is totally rude. She later kicks a kitten (hard). Through much of Romania, stray dogs & cats are in abundance. Bottles of booze are on a shelf with a price on a sticker. Their shots are 2x the size of normal shots and only a couple of dollars.
