... Rich and John bought wine to share with the other passengers and decided to teach them how to play Canasta. Canasta, wine, and electricity made for a decent evening.

Finally, it was the day that the sailboat would take us back to Athens. We sailed most of the day without using the engine. It was quite nice to enjoy the day on the water. By late afternoon we had made it safely back to the port in Athens and disembarked. We grabbed a taxi and headed to Piraeus to spend the night.

If you do this trip, you can consider you've seen about everything that was very important not to miss, and to save your other days for beaches, bar and cocktails.

Regarding ferries, the ticket is 8,2 Euro/person and 37,5 Euro/car, one way. The trip lasts about one hour. You cand take the feery every 1 1/2 - 2 hours. The last one is about 8 o'clock.

Later on, Paul went back to the olive orchard to play louder flutes. The weather had brightened up completely and it was a fine evening; we finished up at the bar for beers and I thrashed Paul at merels despite his over-confident talk.

Waking earlyas usual the next morning (Friday 10th July), we were able to make a substantial breakfast from our supplies before heading up the hill to take a look at the Kastro. It was my second visit, but Paul's first and he was suitably ...

... our breakfast so by 9pm, we were ready to eat Greek. We found a cheap local food place and tried a gyro. It was so delicious though kind of strange looking because French fries were in it. It was like a pita bread with meat, a special sauce, and French fries.

Here's a random thing...dogs seem to be everywhere in Greece. Stray dogs seem to roam the streets in every city and a lot of times there will just be a random dog lying in the street fast asleep. It's the strangest thing!

Isn't that funny? I love sun, heat, swimming-pool, seaside, but I got bored in such conditions on Zakynthos. I thought as if I was in a cage. Touristic zone, small Porta Koukla, near Laganas - was too small for the city dweller like me. One restaurant and two shops when I could pay with credit cards. Is it EU at all? With such a huge touristic demand and therfore experience they didn't think much of the facilities.
