... got up in the dark the morning of New Years Eve & headed off to Wuhan airport for the 1st leg of my journey. As there were no direct flights to Malaysia from Wuhan, I flew to Haikou which is the capital of Hainan (a tropical island at the southern tip of China). I even saw some kind of lizard crawl across the ceiling and a dog ran through. Definitely wouldn't pass a U.S. inspection! Good thing I brought my toilet paper too. ... We are on the 16th floor so there is a good view of the city. It's a very nice hotel so I'm happy! People drive crazy here. I would freak if I had to drive. There seem to be almost no rules. You just drive however you want and honk to get around people. Bicyclists and people walking are also numerous obstacles. Drivers don't stay in lanes or even on their own side of the road for that matter.

Sono tornato in cima all'isola, sperando di dover passare qui solo una notte. Domani cerchero di spostarmi in direzione Hong Kong. Per il resto niente novita...Ho passato un bel periodo a Sanya (al sud dove c erano le spiagge), l ultimo giorno sono andato a vedere l isola delle scimmie: bella, si puo girare e vedere le scimmie libere, ma poi c e anche il centro dell isola dove fanno spettacoli per i visitatori e li le maltrattano.
