... drove to Makryolagios, which I have to say is one of the most attractive beaches we've seen here. Gorgeous waters, sand, sand and more sand and lots of places to eat and drink. The perfect place to wind down before we return to Elounda and pack. Three weeks has raced by but we have loved our time away and also relished the opportunity to spend three weeks in each other's company and (Friday aside) only each other's. ... by the police for spare change. The locals are as friendly and welcoming as ever and whilst a couple have expressed disappointment with the British media, they are far more disparaging of both the Germans and their own Prime Minister. We have lucked out again with the apartment being quite high up which means the view is once again terrific, also from here we're able to throw coins at passers by and shout "let them eat cake". When we return we are in the highest ...

Last night we had some fun swimming in the pool - Kelly tried to teach chris to float without much success. Over our time on Crete we've met a bunch of people from the Netherlands. The owners of the hotel we're staying at are Dutch, so we think that might be why there are so many Dutch people here. So we've been talking to them about Dutch food and they keep encouraging us to order the croquettes at the hotel, which is a Dutch snack that ...
