    4th September .. Today saw us take a chiva to El Valle which is located about an hour away from Bahia Solano. A chiva is an open sided lorry type taxi. The road was pretty terrible and we were all pretty grateful to get to the hostel even though it is fair to say it was nothing to write home about. We had to share our room with roaches and ants.     1st September .. An early start, use of the excellent public transport system and we were at the airport. This time the smaller one located within the city which made travel much simpler.     The trip started in Medellín, the second most important City in Colombia, the destination Bahia Solano in Chocó Department, in the west of Colombia. To go there from Medellin I have to take a little plane with just 20 seating to go cross a layer of clouds in the second rainiest area in the world, the turbulence could be something dreadful, but if you learn to enjoy it that could be something really fun.

    We got into a pretty good routine in El Valle. Wake up and surf, go have breakfast, then lounge in the hammock and read during the heat of the day, before paddling back out for a sunset surf.     ... green-brighting color), but because of the actitute you adopt from there and because of what I call, the "back to the roots feeling". For me the pacific coast is the same as the regression to the basic life enjoying nature and not missing all the necessities that technology have imposed to us.
