A type of peace keeping police was introduced to the favela to get rid of gangs, they have the best views in the city, the children play out together and they all look out for one another. Brena said she loves living in the favela but would like to move further down when she can, as when the cable car breaks, life gets tough not ...

The beaches were really packed but that is probably to be expected given that Rio is such a huge city and although a crowded beach is usually probably a negative, in this case, it added to the atmosphere and made them really cool places to hang out. ... buy tickets to Tiete, which is a 30 minute bus ride. The bus leaves every hour and it's got wifi. We managed to do all that successfully. There was a bit of traffic, so we got to Tiete in just under an hour. V had decided that Rio was the best place to settle in for the World Cup, so from Tiete (which looks something very similar to our Park Station) we hopped onto a bus to Rio. That was another 7 hours. Very comfortable bus ride thankfully, although by then all I wanted ...
