Settling down in Cedar Rapids

I took Tuesday evening to drive to Cedar Rapids to spend the next few days with Tara. I Will be returning to Byron on Friday to celebrate Christmas with my family.

Driving around Cedar Rapids brings back some fun memories from college. I plan on going to Coe tomorrow to reminisce.

Left Minnesota this morning, and have stopped overnight in the Amana Colonies, a National Historic Site. It's a big weekend here, being OctoberFest, but we're just hanging around the house, trying really hard to get rid of the zillions of box elder bugs and ladybugs that hitchhiked from the KOA in Minnesota - they're creeping me out, and are literally covering the awnings and the motorhome....yecch!

I write this entry 3 months late i know. The first few weeks on the job were interesting. Highlights of an Iowa City Summer:
-working 8:30-5:30 is hard.
-There are no bad nights to go to bars.
-a week where you only work 40 hours is a light week.
-Iowans dont like motorcycle helmets
-Summer is HOT. no matter where you are.
-Water parks are awesome
