    ... overnight. Recently, some Walmarts do not allow this anymore. There is a website that tells you which ones don’t allow it. I usually also call them just to make sure. It saves time. This night it was at Hannibal on the Mississippi River.

    ... outside of Buffalo, NY and started the Ebenezer Society. When they ran out of land there, they moved to Iowa and eventually bought up 26,000 acres and settled these 7 villages. They named the new settlement Amana (from the Song of Solomon) which means to remain true.They lived a communal life until the mid 20th century when it became financially difficult to maintain their communal lifestyle.     ... the high levee built in 1955 to create the reservoir and thus Coralville Lake. We had to drive across the spill way to get to the campground area. We are right on the Iowa River. In 1993 and 2008 IA had so much rain that the lake flooded and spilled over the spill way and flooded the campground. Luckily it hasn't rained that much while we have been here.

    ... Next day, off to visit just 2 of the villages. These were Germans escaping
    religious persecution. They came in 4 ships with more following in later
    years. They called the non- Germans, the "English". We had lunch at a German restaurant - beautiful place and food. We visited the micro brewery, the weaving mill, beautiful furniture and a good museum. Too much to see and do again, so back we went to the nice RV park and did the washing.
