Well it's our final day here at Eva Palace hotel, it has been a very relaxing week after our cruise last week with a different port of call each day. The fortnight away seems to have gone very slowly and so when we return home to a chillier autumnal temperature it will probably feel as if we have been away longer. The skies started a little bit grey this morning, seems to be the norm over the past few days but it is is not long before the clouds disappear and the sun comes out to play.
Our morning exercise of climbing the steps to the restaurant seem to be getting easier! we reach the top and see our smiling waiters, all very pleasant and we are now familiar with Panos & Fanos, sounds like a singing duet but we haven't heard them sing ...
... How times have changed.
The shower soon passed, back to my book, The Thread by Victoria Hislop, set in Thessaloniki so a good holiday read.
Hope you are not getting too bored with our daily activities, or lack of ! Maybe I should have set the blog for one week, i.e. the cruise.
We are quite happy to spend our time relaxing - being retired is an energetic past-time!
... after breakfast, back to the bungalow, the skies were gradually getting darker and within minutes the heavens opened with a torrential downpour that lasted at least 25 minutes. Great to watch but not so much fun if out walking.
It wasn't long before the rain clouds drifted away and hints of the familiar blue skies started to return.
I think a lot of people are leaving the hotel today, weekend over the Greeks are returning to work, so the pool area ...
... on the verandah as we watched some early morning bathers, the sea is like a mill pond and looks very tempting.
We set off for our climb to the breakfast restaurant,we must be getting a bit fitter as we were not puffing when we reached the top of all those steps this time.
We found a nice spot beside the pool, not too close to other guests, comfy sunbeds with mattresses, and a parasol, think ...
