Intourist Hotel Khabarovsk

It has been two years since I visited Khabarovsk. I used to spend quite a bit of time there, because my best friend, Antonina lived there and still does. It used to be a sanctuary, from fighting the Russian beast, setting up traveler's itineraries, which would always change, cost more, etc. but how I loved the Russians themselves. ... fonte des neiges, mais les rues sont aeres et c'est donc agreable de s'y promener. Le fleuve Amour est immense ! Le train passe sur un pont de 2.7km de long (le + grand du transiberien) L'Amour est encore majoritairement gele mais fond petit a petit, nous n'allons pas trop loin sur la glace... Le temps est encore une fois au beau fixe...decidement quand est-ce qu'il pleut par ici ??? d'ou vient toute cette neige ?! enfin on va pas se plaindre.

En skaper seg visse forhåpninger til en 6-dagers togtur, spesielt til hvem man skal dele "rom" med(Man sover 4stk i et avlukke). Jeg håpte på noen vestlige eller engelsk-snakkende reisesjeler når jeg gikk ombord i Moskva fredags kveld forrige uke.. Zivljenje v Sibiriji je vsekakor trdo in sprasujeva se ali ljudi tukaj drzi divja lepota te dezele ali kaj drugega nam nepoznanega. Lepota je v oceh opazovalca in vsekakor je Sibirija resnicno lepa, ko jo opazujemo s toplega vlaka in ko drvimo proti razvitemu svetu. Vprasanje pa je kako je ta lepota v oceh domacina, ki mora ziveti v mali hisici iz lesa tudi pri - 50 stopinjah, ko v okoliskih ...

... hanno dei grossissimi problemi con l'alcool: i miei tre vicini di scompartimento, tre ragazzi appartenenti alla scuola di pensiero rivoluzionaria, sono scesi ad una fermata e sono tornati sul treno con una cassa di birra (25 lattine da mezzo litro) e sembravano avere tutta l'intezione di finirla prima di arrivare a destinazione. ... This was going to be our Easter dinner. We had delicious meal of pelmini, salad and a "rissle" of meat with Russian Champagne. It was a kitschy restaurant with slow service but we got Easter Cake and a shot of Vodka on the house. We then went back to the hotel, hung out in the bar with another warm bottle of white wine (for some reason the white wines are chilled) and watched the Russian version of Dancing with the Stars!

... and had a snack of Shchi soup which is cabbage soup and wine for me/beer for Sandra. It was then time for our supper at Nostalgia where we had Siberian dumpling(pelmini), a shredded vegetable cake (rissle) and a Russian specialty of chopped chicken with veggies. Lesson of the day, there are all the stops of the train written on the wall with the time of each stop (Moscow Time), I did not see it before... By now, I can read or at least pronounce the Cyrillic, and it is a lot easier to know where, when and for how long the train is stopping in each station.
