... serenity of the palaces. Complete with the locals selling small birds to set free (actually they come back) but all in all I've now seen a fair few red, gold and jewelled temples and a lot of very large Buddhas but each time they do make me feel calm even if at the end of the three hours I was that girl being a temple is a temple. On my return from the temples however I cleaned my lovely knee and at this point one ...

Day 23 We woke up a little later than expected this morning and got ourselves up and ready to go to Doi Suthep. Upon emerging from our room, we noticed that a cement mixer was delivering some of its load to the school next door. The arm wouldn't go over the wall so someone had decided to knock a hole through the wall instead! We bumped into Boyd, wearing his trademark shorts-on-bottom-apron-on-top combo. A travel blog entry by emilyhitchcock on May 05, 2014

Awoken at 6 as Louisa was going on a jungle trek, I wasn't mad enough to do this, yet still had to suffer the early morning. With an open morning until the train I did manage to lie in until 10, which was absolute bliss. Then it was to the pool to catch some rays, the hotel had quite a nice pool as it turns out with some crazy heat going on. I only managed about an hour and half in the heat, it was 40 degrees and as I'd checked out by this point I no longer had ...

Fruit, all sorts of resorts and beach life

I was having a real fruit experience and discovered
several tropical fruits I’d never had before. I was still trying to find out
the names of some of them so I gave those my own names until I did.

‘Mangosteen’ or Mang-koot is slightly larger than a golf
ball with a thick purple outer skin. If you break it open you find the most
delicious white juicy sweet tangy flesh. ...
