Day 2

Good morning Venice!!!

I woke up too early as I'm still used to Yerevan’s time. At about 8 o’clock the bells from the church near us began to ring. It was wonderfull, maybe for many of you it is usual but for me it’s something extraordinary, as there are no bell towers in Yerevan, and no ringing bells. Only in the main square and it is automatic, not real.

We went out of the room and felt the ...

Venice, Veneto, Italy fedckHello Friends and Family,
Today started out much more calm and relaxed. It was a beautiful day, sunny and around 60. Spent a few hours looking around and walking the back streets with the locals. It was really amazing, the small streets and the thin people. The market was cool with the fresh fish, fruit, etc. We then had to use the restroom, aka "Toilet" which is something that is almost impossible! I think there ...
Venice, Veneto, Italy lucy1279I arrived without any problems. All flights were smooth and on time! Ofilia was waiting for me. We purchased my ticket to Murano via the Alilaguana vaporetto. The weather is overcast and a little cool. We took the vaporetto to the Museo stop on Murano. We then stopped at the grocery store "the COOP" before heading to the apartment. Unfortunately we had to wait for the landlord with the keys so we waited in one of the other students ...
Murano, Veneto, Italy chella... over 5 miles.
A lot of people told us we'd visit Venice regularly over the next few years while we are stationed in Aviano....and I think they might be right. Venice is an enchanting place, and the food is pretty darn good as well.
Allen and I are hopeless romantics, so this place seems to suite us well. ;)
Venice, Italy nikmarks79Last nite will go down in history!! Well, we can say we ate authentic venetian cuisine...lots of seafood would be correct but not come close to describing our experience...this will sound quite childish but not much is new when kristi & i misbehave...so we got a reccomendation from this man at the internet cafe for a great restaurant where locals go and not for tourists. he knew the owner and said he and friends would be there at 9 and we could go and ...
Venice, Italy joansny... the woman taking the "fee" for using the toilets had a clear view of the mens' bums at the urinals. She was really old and wrinkly, but she seemed happy. It was funny seeing Pisa though - a beautiful area of buildings that are breathtaking.... and then that tower.... what a mess up that was. Oh, and there was a famous dead person on display... I can't recall who he was. Padua We visited the basilica in Padua which is famous as the resting place of another ...
Venice, Italy andoandbridget... a foot that appeared to be pasted. It turns out that the foot was discovered somewhere in Turkey, and only recently did someone realize that it matched the sculpture at St. Mark's Basilica. They told us that when they had taken a similar trip after their marriage, they decided not to take a gondola so they could add more days to the end of their trip. Still with the budget traveler mentality today, they asked if we wanted to share a gondola ride with them to split the ...
Venice, Italy the_stamms... map the first day and only used it that one time to get to St. Mark's Square the quickest way. Someone even asked me for directions today too. I was so honoured. I said I had been here for two days, and he said I was a pro already. Ha! Right on!! I told him to go right and then when you get to a big square keep going left. He may still be wandering around Venice cursing that stupid girl, but I told him only two days! And that's what the directions seemed like in my ...
