International Crikvenica

... for the past week!!!

The next day we just did pretty much the same had a mooch about and a walk down to the harbour and Ian was playing doctor and looking after me making me rest all the time so that I did not get tired. Spent the evening watching the crazy american sit coms again and eating buns that Ian made with cheese and salami on god feel like a right lazy sod but cant do much as my head just goes dizzy and funny.

We finished up the last leg of our road trip in Cesky Krumlov in Czech. It is the most amazing and well preserved medieval town in the country. They were too poor to rebuild the town in the 1800s - as a result everything has been well preserved from the 15-16th Centry. ... br>We then drove over to Krk Island to the resort of Baška... as I said before there were only 2 campsites and the one with shade was a naturists one so we thought ahh, why not. Hmmm, it was an experience.... there are some things you just dont need to see which is namely fat naked men with their things flapping around in the wind. We got brave enough to bare all on the beach but I couldnt quite get to walking around ...

L'arrivée sur cette île marque réellement le début de notre voyage. Cette petite ville paraît sortir de nulle part!

... nous sommes en fait à 10 kilomètres de Opatija et que la ligne de bus ne passe pas du tout par là. Finalement, nous rejoignons le centre ville par un chemion caché située de l'autre côté des rails et nous nous rendons à l'office de tourisme pour nous renseigner.

Après avoir rejoins Rijeka en bus local, nous fêtons nos premièrs instants en Croatie autour d'une bière ...

... s.d.) I arrived just fine, and had drawn a map and written directions down from google map. And, it was a snap finding the hostel. Unlike the 3 hr trudge I took in Venice to go less than 1 mile! I used Google map, but I believe the hostel had an incomplete address. And Google map led me almost right into the ocean!

There isn't much to see ...

Great little place to relax, with plenty of beaches (topless, nude or otherwise), hiking, boating and more. Heavily touristed by northern Europeans, with lots and lots of skin on the beaches and boats, and a very interesting medieval town made for wandering tourists.

... yes, FOURTY DAYS) of being inland, Rijeka, my first (albeit brief) stop in Croatia was sooooooooooooooo nice. 40 days of not seeing the coast was a little bit unfathomable for this coastal living girl. ... on kahtlaselt väheste ja veidra tähistusega nuppudega ja neid näppides piiksub kast ukse kohal, mida ma varem polnud märganud. Lülitan kütte sisse ja lähen süüa otsima. Ega mingit erilist valikut pole. Pühapäeva õhtu ja linn välja surnud. Ühe tulukese siiski leian ja tädi toob mulle terve hunniku igasugu grillitud liha. Ka tema eelistab saksakeelset suhtlust, see tundub siin inglise keelest oluliselt populaarsem olevat. Tädi käib aeg-ajalt ukselt vaatamas, kuidas söömine edeneb.
