They had a delightful breakfast and really enjoyed the fresh orange juice. They went for a walk by the sea organ again and meet a couple from the Black Country.
It really was getting too hot already so they went into the shade of the narrow streets. After looking at some Roman remains,they found the best ice cream yet to cool off.
Back to the hotel for coffee and a sleep for Ed, it is hard being the birthday boy! ...
absolutely fresh. We bought half a kilo of anchovies that I spent
some considerable time gutting before cooking them up for tea. The
anchovies, boiled new potatoes, Rocket and tomatoes for tea with a
bottle of local Istrian white.
In the morning we had to air the flat
as well as we could as the fried anchovy smell is difficult to shift
but it was worth it.

I gather there was an Italian
component and groups from Slovenia and all over the former
Yugoslavia. An a'capella group in national costume did really well,
I often find single sex groups lacking the harmonic range we have
come to expect, but this group, (Zora, I think they were named) had
a contralto that really filled in the harmonies well.

... even looking out, and it was clear sky with views down all the way and we flew over Venice and, and...grrrr. We had to wait a long time for our bags to come off. Then the transfer from Gatwick south to the north station to get the train into London proper. Half an hour to Victoria station. A man told me to go to a small news stand to buy an Oyster card, good for unlimited fares on subway and metro busses. Done. Got ...
... been a fabulous experience. The landscape and scenery was spectacular. The HF leaders were wonderful and made everything seamless. The hotels and food were amazing. The weather was fab. And the new friends are absolutely wonderful. I never expected to visit Montenegro and Croatia, but hey, when opportunity knocks you open the door. Positive all the way. You should try it yourself.
